Adding a Logo to the PCB Layout on Autodesk Eagle

This is the link to the video of this tutorial.

Sometimes we need to put a logo into our PCB layout to make it more professional. So, In this article, I will share the steps for importing an image into Autodesk Eagle PCB layout.

First, we need to prepare the image in Bitmap *.bmp format. Also, make sure the picture is only in black and white color and the size is not too big. To give you a reference, 150 x 150 pixels is a good size for a logo.

  1. Prepare the bitmap image,

3. Go to the folder where the bitmap image is located. Then another window will pop up. For now, just leave the setting as it is and click OK

4. Next, another window will pop up asking about what color we want to use. Select the black color then click OK

5. Now, the picture will be generated into the PCB layout. In order to easily move the generated image we need to change the selection filter into the bitmap layer only as shown in the picture below. The bitmap layer starts from layers 200 -231.

6. Finally, to make the image appear on the final PCB design we need to change the image layer into layer “25 tNames” as shown in the picture below.
