On the 26th of August, I went for hiking to the Gerlitzen mountain. The hiking route can be found in the Komoot app.
Transportation
Gerlitzen can be reached easily by using public transportation. We can take the train S2 from Villach Main station and stop at Annenheim station

Bus
If we choose to go by bus we should take bus number 50 from Villach central station and then stop at the Annenheim Cable car station.
Preparations
Food: I brought some bananas and a chocolate bar. Besides that, I brought two bottles of water as well.
Cloth: Since it was summer I wore a short-sleeved shirt and short pants. It is important to wear proper hiking shoes.
Hiking Tips
1. Alternative route
After arriving at the Gipfelbahn don’t follow the route sign because it will lead to the boring gravel route. Make sure to go to the left and follow the small path leading to the top with a more exciting hiking route.
2. Karnten Card
By having the Kärnten Card, we can ride the cable car for free. Besides that with the Kärnten Card, we can enter the cable car gate directly without checking to the ticket box.
3. Cable Car Operating Hours
If we want to use the cable car to go down, make sure that we are still on the operational time.
